Chawner Grey & Co is a relatively new
practice formed on the 1st September 1992 from a merger
of two long established Weston-super-Mare practices of Grey &
Co and Brian Chawner & Co.
Grey & Co dates from c. 1882 when the
firm was known as Cappell & Co thereafter Cappell, Melsom &
Grey who were situated in the High Street of Weston-super-Mare.
In 1905, George Duncan Grey, who was later knighted, changed the
practices name to Grey & Co and in or about 1928, the
firm moved its offices to 1, Boulevard, Weston-super-Mare.
Brian Chawner & Co was a successor firm
to a long line of solicitors general practices that were carried
on at Grove Chambers from about 1921. Prior to that date, its predecessor
practices are believed to go back to about 1851 practising from
different addresses.
Today, the practice of Chawner Grey &
Co is headed by two partners who, with their staff, are dedicated
to giving the best service to their clients over a whole range of
legal services and who pride themselves on building relationships
with clients over many years and several transactions. Our staff
are welcoming and friendly and our building is not intimidating.
Grove Chambers is close to Grove Park and there are car parking
facilities both in the surrounding streets and in a municipal car
park immediately opposite the offices.
